Again we have hundreds of new subscribers since the last update earlier in the year. Welcome indeed!
And thanks to those who have reviewed the books on Amazon, which especially helps to spread the word. Amazon algorithms give a book more promotion when it hits 10 reviews, and maximum exposure at 15. Nearly there!

As you can see, Bullfrog Films have started developing their promotional materials for our film.
And yes, for those who haven't heard, it has a new title!
Bullfrog currently have it on exclusive preview release for educational institutions, in honour of the impact it is having in that sphere (see opposite), with the full public release to come in 2019.
To read the promotional blurb and early reviews - or keep up to date with the latest between these occasional emails - visit the film's blog at:

Our secret project revealed!
In February last year I led the "Community, Place and Play: A Post-Market Economics" course on David's work at Schumacher College.
Among the students was an exceptional gentleman named Matthew Taylor, with a passion for curiously delightful projects. Recognising the 'wikipedia-like' interlinked structure of Lean Logic, he has since been working to develop an online version.
It's now complete, and ready for beta-testing! So if you've been longing for a searchable, linked Lean Logic, drop him a line to sign up: matthewtaylor664@gmail.com

Other news...
The Spanish translation of Surviving the Future is set for publication in Spring 2019, with interest in Hungarian, German and French translations.
The inspiring Michael Foley - author of the forthcoming Farming for the Long Haul - also hosts the Watchtower radio show, and interviewed me about Fleming's books at the 2016 Dark Mountain festival. It was a relaxed, in depth interview (out in the woods!), with someone who really understands Fleming's perspective, and I'm delighted that he's given permission to share the show more widely now.
Alnoor Ladha's excellent article for Truthout - From "Green Growth" to Post Growth - ended with a most pertinent quote from Fleming.
And finally, a couple of the stranger places that Fleming's work have been popping up...
Conversation Oblique, self-described as "tangential, informal, nonexpert conversation", discovered Surviving the Future!
And the photographic artist Joanna Vestey has produced the below image from her recording of the talk Jonathon Porritt and I gave in Oxford when launching David's books. Just don't ask me how!

Radio Kingston's 'Surviving the Future book club'
In the last update I announced the release of the Surviving the Future audiobook.
New York's Radio Kingston were inspired to hear of it, and are now playing a chapter a week to their audience both locally and online.
Host Jimmy Buff and huge Fleming fan Peter Buffett then discuss each week's chapter, and it's proving a stimulating and nourishing listen.
It has already emerged that Radio Kingston wouldn't actually exist without the inspiration provided by Surviving the Future, and that everything Buffett's NoVo Foundation now does is rooted in the book!
They're up to Chapter 5 so far. Catch up from the first episode, or here's a full archive.

In May, our friends at Vermont's Sterling College offered an oversubscribed three-day course based around David Fleming's books.
They are now developing this content into an online course, as part of their plans for an expanded 'Surviving the Future' programme in 2019.
And several others, including the University of British Columbia (Canada), Centre for Alternative Technology (Wales), University of Minnesota (USA) and Australian Conservation Foundation have let us know that they are using the books and film tasters in their classrooms.

Seeking inspiration for that Amazon review? :) Snippets from the latest reviews from around the web:
“Indispensable ... writing of great beauty and grace ... begins where most authors who critically address our uncertain future leave off ... a real eye opener, the most surprising of conceptual journeys ... David Fleming may be my favourite mind of the last century ... a book to be cherished ... beautiful and hopeful ... a genius narrative … a true philosopher of gifted insight, balanced with a heart for the real subtle details of lived experience ... now sits at the top of my 'must read' list ... the most concrete and descriptive look into a post-capitalist future I have found ... a “smoke signal” of sorts around which to gather to build a regenerative and life-providing future ... I hope I have given a sense of the deep originality of this amazing book ... a companion of rare insight, beauty and wisdom ... this book, more than any other on my shelf, is a treasure from our civilisation to the future.

"Crime is valuable feedback about what childhood in a society means, about its education, economics and culture—about whether this is a society that works or not."
